The First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army
British Museum - 13/09/07 to 06/04/08

This once-in-a-lifetime exhibition will explore one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century and provide an insight into China's First Emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, and his legacy. Objects featured in the exhibition will include a number of the world-famous terracotta warriors from Xi'an, China, which were buried alongside the First Emperor in readiness for the afterlife, as well as some of the most striking recent discoveries made on the site.

The Royal Academy of Arts will stage a landmark exhibition presenting modern masterpieces drawn from Russia’s principal collections: the State Pushkin Museum and the State Tretyakov Museum in Moscow and the State Hermitage Museum and the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg.
Over 120 paintings by Russian and French artists working between 1870 and 1925 will be displayed together for the first time ever in the United Kingdom in an exhibition which surveys the main directions of modern art from Realism and Impressionism to Non-Objective painting. Works will include paintings by Renoir, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Matisse together with those by Kandinsky, Tatlin and Malevich.

Tutankhamun Exhibition
22nd November 2007 to 30th August 2008.
Marking the first time the treasures of Tutankhamun have visited London in over 30 years, an extensive exhibition of more than 130 artifacts from the tomb of the celebrated Pharaoh and other Valley of the Kings ancestors visits London on 15 November 2007. London is the only European city to host the treasures. Featured treasures in the exhibit, which are all between 3,300 and 3,500 years old, include Tutankhamun's royal diadem - the gold crown discovered encircling the head of the king's mummified body that he likely wore while living - and one of the gold and precious stone inlaid coffinettes that contained his mummified internal organs.

Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913-2008

Some of the greatest portrait photographs of the twentieth century were taken for, or published in, Vanity Fair. This remarkable selection of 150 classic images features works from the magazine displayed for the first time including Albert Einstein, Charlie Chaplin and Jean Harlow. And from the magazine's re-launch in 1983, the works of photographers including Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton, Bruce Weber and Mario Testino are featured, depicting a wide range of subjects from Arthur Miller to Madonna.

Pop Art Portraits at the National Portrait Gallery

This exhibition explores the role of Pop Art. Featuring 52 key works by Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns and Roy Lichtenstein alongside those of Peter Blake, Richard Hamilton, David Hockney and Patrick Caulfield. Divided into six sections, Precursors of Pop; Portraits and the Question of Style; Fantasy; Film; Marilyn; Innocence and Experience it covers the 1950s and 1960s.

Tintin at the Playhouse Theatre

Tintin was created by Herge in the 1929 comic strip, Le Petit Vingtieme. Since then, his adventures have spawned countless books and even the odd film or two. The stories follow child journalist Tintin and his faithful dog Snowy on adventures across the globe. This play sees Tintin in Tibet attempting to save his friend, Chang, from the freezing world of the Himalayas, home of the legendary abominable snowman.
